Overview
MI Maizey is an AI-powered platform that helps University of Michigan students access campus information through a conversational interface. MI Maizey is an AI-powered platform that helps University of Michigan students access campus information through a conversational interface. The problem was that students couldn't tell what it was capable of — they didn't know what to ask, and the experience didn't give them enough reason to return.Research confirmed that students wanted more personalized academic support, not just a smarter search bar. That drove the biggest addition to the redesign: a schedule upload feature that shifted MI Maizey from purely reactive to proactive — surfacing relevant information before students even thought to ask. The redesign also simplified navigation, tightened visual hierarchy, and prioritized accessibility through deliberate choices like the Atkinson Hyperlegible typeface.
